Hugo Ekitike is a Red! Liverpool confirm blockbuster £79m arrival of Eintracht Frankfurt striker to take summer spending spree close to £300m mark

The Reds have confirmed that Ekitike has agreed to join the club as they continue a blockbuster summer of recruitment. The striker moves from Eintracht Frankfurt after scoring 22 goals in all competitions last season.

Liverpool have spent big this summer already, adding Florian Wirtz in a blockbuster £116m ($156m) deal, while also signing Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez. Giorgi Mamardashvili has also linked up with the squad after being signed last year.

Ekitike is set to fly to Hong Kong to join up with his new Reds team-mates and their pre-season tour. The Merseysiders have not confirmed the length of the contract he has signed, but it is likely to be a long-term deal.

Liverpool play AC Milan this weekend in a friendly. It remains to be seen if Ekitike will be ready to be involved.
