  • Kane hoping to reach final at Wembley
  • Says that is an extra motivation for him
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Kane scored from the spot in his side's 2-2 draw at the Emirates in the first leg of their quarter-final Champions League tie with the Gunners, and now they are preparing to host Mikel Arteta's men on Wednesday night. With a semi-final on the line, the England captain is dreaming of the German giants reaching the final, which will be played at a familiar stomping ground of his: Wembley.

    WHAT KANE SAID

The striker, who has played at Wembley many times for England and Spurs over the years, told TNT Sports: “The motivation is there in the back of the head that there’s a chance to play a Champions League final at Wembley which is not an occasion that happens very often.

“Of course that’s where I want to try and win the Champions League, there would be no better place for me personally to win that trophy. But there's a lot of steps along the way, a lot of tough games to be played, and step one is Arsenal.”

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Bayern's dominance in the Bundesliga was ended last weekend when Bayer Leverkusen romped to the title and in the season that Kane swapped Tottenham for the serial trophy-winning Bavarians, the 30-year-old's new team could go without silverware for the first time since the 2011-12 campaign. This is their last chance to rescue a disappointing season.
