WHAT HAPPENED?
Since Gareth Southgate's resignation as the Three Lions boss after Euro 2024, Guardiola has been one of the main names linked to the vacant position. But according to the Daily Mail, the FA will not make any formal approach for the Manchester City boss until their court case - where 115 charges have been brought against them - has concluded.
AFPTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Guardiola has hinted over the last 12 months that his time in Manchester could be coming to an end. The successful manager has completed almost everything possible in club management and said he could see himself managing an international team as his next challenge. His words may have played a part in the FA appointing Lee Carsley as interim boss for the time being.
