The Bologna striker scored 11 goals in 34 Serie A games last season and played a crucial role in the club securing a Champions League slot. The Red Devils, who are keen on bolstering their attack this summer, are known to be long-time admirers of the forward.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch attacker has a €40m (£33m/$42m) release clause in his contract which will be valid until the beginning of August. United have been informed about the timeline of the clause. The Premier League giants remain undecided on whether to go ahead and pursue the player.
