Elon Musk over Ryan Reynolds? Wrexham co-owner topped by Tesla & X chief & David Beckham in ranking of ideal club bosses

A survey, conducted by CLUB game and completed by OnePoll research, asked 2,000 football fans to choose their dream club owner, where Inter Miami boss and Manchester United legend Beckham emerged as the overwhelming winner. The England icon received 27 per cent of the votes as those fans wanted him to take over their clubs. Beckham co-owns MLS side Inter Miami and his presence has helped them sign legends of the game like Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets.

Beckham was followed by Tesla and X owner Musk, who received 22 per cent of the votes. One in five fans in England want the American businessman to own their favourite clubs. Musk is one of the richest people on earth, with a personal valuation of $350 billion (£260b). Musk has received more votes than Hollywood actor Reynolds, who co-owns Championship side Wrexham along with fellow actor Rob McElhenney. Under the actor duo's ownership, the Welsh outfit saw a meteoric rise in their fortunes as they achieved three consecutive promotions to reach the English second tier from the National League.

Reynolds' Wrexham missed out on a dream start to their journey in the Championship as they conceded two late goals and lost 2-1 to Southampton in the opening week. They next face Hull City on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup first round.
