Egypt were dealt a huge blow on Thursday as star player Mohamed Salah was forced off in the first half of their match against Ghana with an injury.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Salah went down off of the ball late in the first half of the Africa Cup of Nations match against Ghana. The forward walked off the field as he was quickly substituted and replaced by Mostafa Fathi. It is has not yet been confirmed what kind of injury Salah sustained, but The Athletic reports it could be a hamstring problem.

If his injury proves severe, Salah may be ruled out for the rest of the competition and will likely head back to Liverpool to begin his recovery. Egypt, however, will be hoping to have him back fit for their final game of Group B against Cape Verde.
