The 39-year-old attacker appeared in all three of Portugal's group matches, however, for the first time in his career he ended the group stage in a major competition without scoring a goal. THE BIGGER PICTURE

The former Spanish full-back went on to predict the result of the Selecao's round of 16 clash against Slovenia as he claimed that Ronaldo and Co would win the match 1-0 with the ex-Manchester United and Real Madrid player scoring the winning goal.

  • WHAT JOSE ENRIQUE SAID

Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, Enrique said, "Portugal’s round of 16 game against Slovenia is where Cristiano Ronaldo will turn up. He didn’t have the best group stage and was criticised for his performances. I don’t think Slovenia is an easy game for Portugal, but I think they will win the game 1-0 with Cristiano scoring the winner. He will turn up and prove his doubters from the group stages wrong, as he has done so often in the past."
