Sergio Conceicao responds to reports of players, supposedly including USMNT star Christian Pulisic, wanting him out after just eight games

The Portuguese was only appointed as Rossoneri boss at the end of December 2024, with just eight games taken in at the helm so far. He has already delivered major silverware in the form of a Supercoppa Italiana triumph, but has supposedly faced questions of his methods.

Reports in Italy have claimed that leading players, such as USMNT star Pulisic and France international Theo Hernandez, are unhappy with the current coaching regime. That has sparked rumours of Conceicao seeing his contract terminated in the summer.

Conceicao can see the funny side of those reports, saying in the aftermath of a 1-1 derby draw with arch-rivals Inter: “There have been rumours about my future, but I’ve just arrived. I still have the luggage in my car and they [media] want to send me away already.”

He added, after seeing Milan concede a 93rd-minute equaliser against Inter: “There has been a lot of noise, but some things are not true. The important thing was to prove personality, ambition and desire to win a game that meant more than a game. We must have this consistency in the league and other competitions.”

Milan, who have drafted in Premier League title winner Kyle Walker alongside star turns Pulisic and Rafael Leao, sit eighth in the Serie A table as things stand. They will be in Coppa Italia quarter-final action against Roma on Wednesday and have a Champions League knockout phase play-off clash with Feyenoord fast approaching.
