PSG drop interest in teenager
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Blues are in negotiations with Palmeiras for Messinho but the teenager's price tag is an issue, GOAL understands. Messinho's release clause is set at €45 million (£39m/$49m), but Chelsea would prefer to bid lower than that sum. The Blues would rather pay a fixed fee of €20m (£17m/$21m) with another €20min variables. Palmeiras are not willing to negotiate the price as things stand, with their tough stance meaning PSG have already lost interest in the youngster.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Messinho is the latest Brazilian sensation to attract interest from Europe's top clubs. The winger shone at the recent Under-17 World Cup for Brazil and appears to be in demand. While clubs are keen to sign him up now, Messinho won't actually be able to move until he turns 18 in 2025.
“To play for Barcelona, which is one of the best clubs in the world. I was born watching Neymar, Messi, and (Luis) Suarez play for Barcelona and that’s the dream I have," he said.
"I watch almost every Barca match, I’m a fan of the club. I have great admiration for the players who play there and I hope to be there too.”

WHAT'S NEXT FOR MESSINHO?
Palmeiras seem unwilling to accept anything lower than their termination fee for Messinho as they eye a big pay day. The youngster may be dreaming of Barcelona but is likely to find it difficult to secure a transfer to the Catalans due to the club's well-documented financial issues, which may just help Chelsea in the race to land the young star.
