Chelsea reject title talk! Blues have not changed targets despite incredible start under Enzo Maresca with one objective still key

Chelsea have rejected the prospect of winning the Premier League title and remain focused on finishing in the top four under manager Enzo Maresca, the Daily Mail reports. The Blues are currently second in the table, seven points behind leaders Liverpool, and have only lost twice this season.

Chelsea can continue their fine form this weekend with a win over local rivals Tottenham, but the board have not altered their expectations; they expect Maresca's side to do everything they can to finish in the Champions League qualification spots and successfully introduce a new style of play.

Chelsea finished sixth last season and were 28 points behind eventual champions Manchester City. Thus, a title challenge of any kind would have to be regarded as significant progress under Maresca's management.

Chelsea will hope to cut the gap on Liverpool to four points with a victory over Spurs this weekend. They then face Astana in the Conference League in midweek.
