U.S. international Caleb Wiley is reportedly returning to Chelsea after spending several months on loan at club affiliate RC Strasbourg. The move is to help facilitate The Blues' $21 million (20 million euros) transfer deal for center back Mamadou Sarr, who currently plays for RC Strasbourg as well. Sarr will be loaned back to Strasbourg for the rest of the season.
Due to loan rules, Chelsea can't have more than three players loaned to one side, which is what prompted the club's decision to recall Wiley.
Wiley has made six Ligue 1 appearances for the club, which currently sits 10th in the French top flight.
L'Equipe was the first to report Wiley's recall.
