    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Messinho had previously admitted "his dream" is to play for Barcelona but he will wear the blue of Chelsea next season after completing his move to England. His agent Cury has now opened up on the transfer and revealed why the youngster was convinced that the Premier League side would be the best place for him to continue his career.

  • WHAT MESSINHO'S AGENT SAID

Cury told GE: "It was the only club that saw us as number 10, to play in midfield. I may be wrong, but we will have the opportunity. I think we will be right, so that was also something that weighed heavily. In my opinion, in my team he plays as a 10. They like to put him on the wing. I think it's too narrow for a player of that quality, I think that... like all players of that quality in the world, he's usually the number 10, so the number 10 plays inside."

    WHAT NEXT

Messinho has already been backed to go on and become "the best player in the world" by Palmeiras president Leila Pereira, who has been enjoying watching the youngster playing a starring role for Palmeiras this season. The teenager will soon end his time with the Brazilian side and then head to England for a new challenge with Chelsea.
