Chelsea finally submit formal offer for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen with Romelu Lukaku set to complete transfer in opposite direction

Per Gianluca Di Marzio, the Blues have finally submitted an official offer with Osimhen's agent Roberto Calenda and on Wednesday, they are expected to initiate formal talks with Napoli. It remains to be seen now whether the three parties will be able to reach an agreement over the transfer of the Nigerian forward who has already informed the Serie A side that he wants to move out.

While talks are on over Osimhen's potential move to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea outcast Lukaku is on the verge of formally joining Gli Azzurri on Wednesday. He is set to travel to Naples in the next few hours to undergo his medical before he formally puts pen to paper on a permanent contract.

Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli have also approached Osimhen with a lucrative offer, however, his agent Calenda clarified on social media that his client has no plans to leave Europe at this stage of his career.

The west London side are desperate to add a quality striker to their ranks before the transfer window closes on Friday. While they are making progress in their transfer pursuit of the Nigerian forward, the club have identified an alternative in Brentford's Ivan Toney, in case they miss out on the Napoli star.
