    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Emegha has been a bright spark for Chelsea's sister club Strasbourg, who find themselves with a huge opportunity to qualify for next season's Champions League. The 22-year-old has scored 12 goals in 22 Ligue 1 outings this season for Les Bleu et Blanc, garnering attention from the Premier League heavyweights.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Last month, it was reported that the Blues were ready to offload as many as 11 players this summer to allow Enzo Maresca to sign a top striker, which put a question mark over the future of goal-shy Nicolas Jackson. However, the head coach had made it clear back in January that he had confidence in the Senegalese international's ability.

"No, because I think by being a little bit more lucky, we can convert and can score more goals. It’s not about [signing] a ‘killer’. At this moment, the one that’s probably missing the goal is Nico. But the way he is working is fantastic, and we don’t have any doubt that Nico is soon going to start scoring goals," said Maresca.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA?

Maresca's side started the season brightly but then lost their way in the last few months. However, the headstart they received at the beginning of the campaign puts them in a favourable position to finish in the top four and book a berth in next season's Champions League. They are set to host Spurs in what promises to be an action-packed Premier League encounter on Thursday, April 3.
