Liverpool maintain that Diaz is not officially on the market, but the Colombian has informed the club of his desire to leave and seek a new challenge in the Bundesliga after a reported call with Vincent Kompany. Should Bayern fail to reach an agreement, their focus will shift towards Fofana, who impressed in 2024–25 with 11 goals and seven assists for Lyon.
Getty ImagesWHAT NEXT FOR BAYERN MUNICH?
If unsuccessful in their bid to sign Diaz, the club will accelerate talks with Lyon for Fofana to avoid being left short-handed on the flanks. Bayern are also managing squad restructuring following high-profile departures and summer signings, with further incomings possible as the transfer window progresses.
