Aston Villa to miss out on Nicolas Jackson as 'big club' enters talks with exiled Chelsea striker

According to The Sun, Chelsea's insistence on valuing Jackson at £70 million has created a major stumbling block in negotiations, with Villa, in particular, unable to meet the steep asking price due to their ongoing financial limitations. The club is under increasing scrutiny to comply with FFP rules, and with Jackson's high valuation, it seems that Villa will have to look elsewhere for a new forward.

While Aston Villa’s chances of landing Jackson appear to have faded, other top clubs remain in the hunt. Tottenham Hotspur, who were linked with the player earlier in the summer, could still make a late move if they sell Richarlison. However, Thomas Frank has claimed the striker is likely to stay.

Bayern Munich, the German giants, are also among the clubs that have been keeping tabs on Jackson. The Bavarian side are struggling to replace the injured Jamal Musiala, and have shown interest in bolstering their attack. They have reached out to Chelsea about both Jackson and fellow striker Christopher Nkunku this month, making their intentions clear. Apart from Bayern & Tottenham, Newcastle have also shown interest in Jackson. However, as per The Sun, another "big club" have reached out to his agents to get the details of his situation at Stamford Bridge. 

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca recently confirmed that Jackson is fully fit and available for selection after serving a three-match suspension, which he received for a red card during a previous season’s match against Newcastle. However, despite his fitness, Maresca revealed that Jackson would not be involved in the next match against West Ham due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the striker’s future at the club.
