Antony could leave Man Utd in January as Premier League rivals consider move for Old Trafford flop

According to Caught Offside, Newcastle United have been looking to sign an 'exciting winger' for some time. The report states they are keen on recruiting Nottingham Forest wideman Anthony Elanga. However, if that falls through, they could try to sign the United man.

Antony swapped Ajax for United in the summer of 2022 for an eye-watering £85million ($112m) but since then he has scored just 11 goals and notched five assists in 83 appearances. This season, he has only played one minute of football for the Red Devils. Therefore, trying to cash in on the 24-year-old may be best for all parties.

Antony - whose contract at Old Trafford runs until 2027 - has been linked with a loan move to Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce, with the Turkish transfer window running until September 13. It remains to be seen if they will make a move for the Brazil international.

If Antony stays put at Erik ten Hag's side, he will hope to get more game time for United away to lowly Southampton on Saturday afternoon when the Premier League returns following the international break.
