Antonio Conte to make sensational Chelsea return?! Fiery ex-Juventus & Spurs boss 'offers himself' to former club - with Blues interested in Bologna's Thiago Motta

According to Italian publicationCalcio Mercato, Conte has put the feelers out to convince his old club to recruit him after two eventful years at Stamford Bridge between 2016 and 2018. However, Tuttosport claims Chelsea are keeping tabs on Bologna's Motta, who has impressed at the Serie A side.

Conte has not managed since leaving Tottenham by mutual consent in March 2023. He has won trophies as a manager with Chelsea, Juventus, and Inter but whether he returns to the west London outfit remains to be seen. While his style of play is seen as more defensive and counter-attacking, Motta may be viewed as a more progressive and offensive alternative.

Motta, who made a name for himself after playing for Barcelona, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain, took over at Bologna in September 2022 and after leading them to ninth last season, they are fourth this term.

Current boss Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure at Chelsea, and if they fail to beat his and Conte's former side Tottenham on Thursday at Stamford Bridge, his time at the Blues could be brought to a close.
