Another wonderkid for Chelsea?! Blues considering summer swoop to sign €20m-rated Sporting CP midfielder Dario Essugo

Chelsea saw a host of want-away stars leaving the club on loan in the recently concluded January transfer window. Players like Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi and Joao Felix, who were struggling for minutes under Enzo Maresca, have all found new homes, albeit temporarily. They also made a signing in January as they brought in midfielder Mathis Amougou from Saint-Etienne.

After securing the signature of Amougou, the Blues have now turned their attention towards another teenager sensation as they look to sign 19-year-old Portuguese midfielder Dario Essugo from Sporting CP, according to A Bola. The teenager is currently on loan at Las Palmas but is expected to exit Sporting next summer amid interest from England and Spain.

Sporting value the player at around €20m (£16m/$20m) and are expected to demand a similar from the Blues or any other club who come knocking at their door at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Enzo Maresca's side will be back in action in the FA Cup this weekend as they take on Brighton in the fourth round on Saturday.
