  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Daly announced her retirement on Wednesday morning, just hours after playing for the Lionesses against the Republic of Ireland in a Euro 2025 qualifier. The Aston Villa star made her debut in 2016 and went on to win 84 caps, scoring 16 goals, and playing a key role in both England's Euro 2022 triumph, and their run to the World Cup final.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Prince William is famously an Aston Villa fan and Daly plays up front for the Villans, alongside Alisha Lehmann. This season, she has scored seven goals in 16 games in the WSL, and Prince of Wales is hopeful that Daly will now focus on hitting the back of the net for the club.
