'What are you doing?!' - Alexis Mac Allister reveals Mohamed Salah warning saw him make swift wardrobe adjustment after Liverpool move

The Argentina international has admitted that he preferred to warm up in tracksuit bottoms while he was at Brighton but was convinced to ditch them for shorts when fellow Reds hero Salah had a pop at him early on in his Anfield career.

He told club media: "When I was in Brighton, I used to wear trousers. Then I cam here and I remember against Sheffield [United] we went out to the warm up and I was wearing a hat and trousers and Mo Salah told me 'What are you doing? Why are you wearing that?' So since that day, I never wore trousers... Only because of Mo."

Why Salah had such an issue with his team-mate wearing tracksuit bottoms is not known, but the change has hardly hindered Mac Allister this year. He has been an important part for the Premier League title hopefuls this season, scoring three goals and setting up four more in the English top flight this season.

Mac Allister will come up against his former side Brighton on Sunday as they visit Liverpool in the Premier League. The Reds are currently second in the table behind Arsenal on goal difference and a point ahead of Manchester City. Reigning champions City and the Gunners go head to head after Liverpool's clash.
