Abdukodir Khusanov makes nightmare start to his Man City debut as shocking error gifts Chelsea a goal before he then gets booked in calamitous opening five minutes
Abdukodir Khusanov has been slammed by fans for his nervy start to his Manchester City career, as he made two major errors against Chelsea.
Khusanov was picked to start against Chelsea on Saturday as he made his debut for City, following a £34 million ($42m) move from Lens. However, he got lost under a high ball early on and his attempted headed back-pass to Ederson was cut out by Nicolas Jackson, and the striker picked out Noni Madueke, who tapped into an empty net. The Uzbekistan international was then shown a yellow card for a wild challenge on Cole Palmer, having passed him the ball, and was fortunate not to be sent off.
City face Club Brugge in a big Champions League tie in midweek, before another huge fixture against Arsenal in the Premier League. It remains to be seen if Khusanov will be in the starting XI or on the bench.
