Commanders vs Packers Predictions, Picks & Odds: NFL Thursday Night Football - Sep 11

The Packers (-3.5) and Commanders face off in tonight’s Week 2 Thursday Night Football matchup. Both teams managed to pick up Week 1 wins and gave up just 19 combined points in the process. That makes under 48 points (-110) an interesting pick.

Commanders vs Packers Picks

JJ to Extend Record - Josh Jacobs: First TD Scorer (+325)

Packers running back Josh Jacobs has scored a touchdown in each of his last nine games, which is a franchise record. The running game is going to be paramount for Green Bay tonight, especially given how effective Washington’s pass defense was on Sunday.

The Commanders held the Giants’ Russell Wilson to just 168 passing yards, no TDs, and a 45.9 percent completion percentage on Sunday. So, expect Jacobs to have a fair few carries tonight and be relied upon in the red zone.

There is no likelier TD scorer on the odds board on either team than Jacobs. In a game where touchdowns could be hard to come by, bet on the three-time Pro Bowler to be the first TD scorer, at attractive +325 odds.

  • Commanders vs Packers Pick 1: Josh Jacobs: First TD Scorer (+325) with BetMGM

Dual-Threat Daniels - Jayden Daniels Over 276.5 Passing and Rushing Yards (-115)

Jayden Daniels, the Commanders’ second-year QB, had an excellent rookie season and should continue to improve in 2025. While the Packers have a formidable pass rush with the addition of Micah Parsons, Daniels can still hurt Green Bay tonight.

Daniels wasn’t at his best in the 21-6 win over the Giants, but still managed 233 passing yards and 68 yards on the ground. So even an average game from Daniels could result in over 276.5 passing and rushing yards (-115) tonight.

In fact, he’s reached that figure in each of the last seven full games he’s played, including last year’s playoffs. To stay in this game, the Commanders are going to need the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year to make big plays, and he should come through.

  • Commanders vs Packers Pick 2: Jayden Daniels Over 276.5 Passing and Rushing Yards @ (-115) with BetMGM

Dominant Defenses - Under 48 Points (-110)

The Lions’ lone touchdown against the Packers on Sunday came with just 55 seconds left in the game. Green Bay allowed just 13 points in its impressive victory over last season’s best offensive team.

Meanwhile, the Giants didn’t even manage to score a touchdown against a stout Commanders defense. Washington put together its best defensive performance for over two years in the 21-6 win.

It is not going to be easy for either offense to put points on the board, even if Daniels and Packers QB Jordan Love both have big-play ability.

The total went under in both teams’ games in Week 1, and that could once again be the case tonight.

  • Commanders vs Packers Pick 3: Under 48 Points @ -110 with BetMGM

Commanders vs Packers Start Time

The Commanders (1-0) head to Green Bay (1-0) to take on the Packers in Jayden Daniels’ first career game at Lambeau Field. Daniels, the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year, has handled the pressure incredibly well so far in his young career, but this is a new challenge.
