Colts vs Chargers Picks

Taylor Tough to Contain - Jonathan Taylor Over 88.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Running backs have been tearing up the Chargers’ defense lately. The Dolphins’ De’Von Achane went for 128 yards and 2 TDs on just 16 carries in a 29-27 loss last Sunday. The weekend before, the Commanders’ Jacory Croskey-Merritt picked up 111 rushing yards against LA.

Over the last four games, the Chargers’ opponents have been averaging 144.8 rushing yards per game. That should be music to Jonathan Taylor’s ears. The Colts running back leads the NFL in carries (115), rushing yards (603), and rushing touchdowns (7).

As long as Taylor is somewhat near his season average of 5.2 yards per carry today, he should have no problem getting 90+ rushing yards. Bet on Taylor to pick up over 88.5 rushing yards at -118 odds.

  • Colts vs Chargers Prediction 1: Jonathan Taylor Over 88.5 Rushing Yards @ -115 with BetMGM

Offense Over Defense - Over 48.5 Points (-110)

The Indianapolis Colts have the most efficient offense in the NFL. They lead the league in points per game (32.3) and points per play (.537). Indianapolis also ranks in the top five for fewest opponent points per game, but they haven’t played a team that ranks higher than 16th in PPG.

Los Angeles has had to adjust to losing its top two running backs (Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton) to injuries, but Kimani Vidal has filled in admirably. The Chargers’ offense looked competent as Vidal ran for 124 yards on 18 carries in the 29-27 Week 6 win over the Dolphins.

Indy gave up 27 points to the Cardinals last weekend, Arizona’s joint-highest total of the season. There’s certainly room for both teams to have success on offense, and the Colts’ QB-RB duo of Daniel Jones and Jonathan Taylor has been exceptional this season.

Expect a fair amount of scoring here and bet on over 48.5 points.

  • Colts vs Chargers Prediction 2: Over 48.5 Points @ -110 with BetMGM

All in on Indy - Colts ML (+110)

So far, the Chargers have been one of the worst teams in the NFL at stopping the run. Opponents have averaged five yards per carry against LA this season, and 5.2 YPC over the last four games. Meanwhile, Indianapolis ranks sixth in the NFL, with 131.8 rushing yards per game.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor could have a field day against the Chargers’ weak running defense. Also, Chargers linebacker Khalil Mack remains out, which hampers their ability to get to Colts QB Daniel Jones.

Indianapolis has played a weak schedule so far this season, but it should still be able to put up a lot of points against an injury-stricken Chargers team. The Colts are beating opponents by an average of 13 points per game, which leads the NFL.

Indy should be able to avoid a second loss of the season at SoFi today and hand the Chargers a third loss in their last four games. Take the Colts’ moneyline.
