The Minnesota Twins (52-60) and Detroit Tigers (66-48) are set to wrap up their three-game clash in the AL Central on Wednesday, with one final showdown to settle the score in the series.

Minnesota dropped another one on Monday, falling 6-3 to the Detroit Tigers. That marks five losses in their last six games and extends their skid to five straight series without a win. They’ll need back-to-back victories Tuesday and Wednesday to stop the bleeding.

On the flip side, the Tigers have rediscovered their rhythm. Monday’s win was their sixth in the last eight contests, a sharp turnaround after stumbling through a losing streak just a few series ago.

Here, GOAL brings you everything you need to know about how to watch Detroit Tigers vs Minnesota Twins MLB game, plus plenty more.

Detroit Tigers vs Minnesota Twins team news

Detroit Tigers team news

Detroit got a big boost from Kerry Carpenter in their 6-3 win. The left fielder launched a two-run shot in the sixth inning, his 19th homer of the campaign. Carpenter, also 27 and in his fourth season with the Tigers, is batting .267 with 38 RBIs. He was penciled into the third spot Monday and patrolled left field, a spot he manned while Riley Greene took on DH duties for the day.

Greene, who leads the Tigers in nearly every major offensive category, continues to be the engine of Detroit’s lineup. The young star has already mashed 26 homers, tallied 84 RBIs, and is batting .269. First baseman Spencer Torkelson is holding his own as well, clubbing 23 homers and driving in 63 while usually hitting fifth. The Tigers’ young core is starting to show why there’s reason for optimism in the Motor City.

Minnesota Twins team news

On the other side, The Twins came up short in Monday’s series opener, despite getting long balls from Matt Wallner and Ryan Jeffers. Wallner, who was slotted into the two-hole and played right field, crushed his 15th homer of the year. The 27-year-old slugger is now in his fourth MLB campaign, all with Minnesota, and while his power numbers are solid, his batting average sits at a modest .217. He’s also chipped in 26 RBIs.

Behind him, catcher Ryan Jeffers provided more punch from the heart of the order, going deep for the eighth time this season. Jeffers is hitting .254 with 35 runs driven in and continues to be a steady bat for the Twins. As for Byron Buxton, he remains sidelined on the injured list, and with familiar names like Carlos Correa, Ty France, and Willi Castro shipped out at the trade deadline, Minnesota’s lineup has a bit of a new look heading into August.
