NFL Draft 2025: Ranking top 5 best offensive players available in Round 2

The opening night saw Cam Ward land atop the draft board with the Titans, the Jaguars make a bold move to snag dynamic playmaker Travis Hunter, and the Raiders scoop up explosive backfield weapon Ashton Jeanty.

With Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft in the rearview mirror, all eyes now shift toward a pivotal Day 2.

But with just 32 names called so far, a wealth of high-level talent remains on the board heading into Round 2.

Here's a look at the top remaining offensive prospects in this year's draft class:

    1QB Shedeur Sanders | Colorado

Shedeur Sanders will have to wait at least another day to hear his name called in the NFL Draft.

The Colorado quarterback—and son of head coach and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders—was left on the board after a first round full of twists on Thursday night. Despite being a focal point of Colorado's turnaround in 2023, leading the Buffaloes to their first bowl appearance in nearly a decade alongside Travis Hunter, Sanders slid out of Round 1.

Several quarterback-hungry franchises had been linked to him, including the Giants, Browns, and Saints—all holding top-10 selections—but each opted to go in different directions. Later in the night, potential landing spots like the Dolphins (No. 13) and Steelers (No. 21) also passed. The Giants even traded up to No. 25, only to pick Ole Miss signal-caller Jaxson Dart over Sanders.

Now destined for Day 2, Sanders will miss out on the benefits of a first-round deal—most notably the fifth-year team option. There's also a financial hit: the final pick of Round 1 typically earns a five-year deal worth around $14.6 million, while the top pick of the second round lands a four-year pact closer to $11.8 million. As his draft position continues to slip, so too does the value of his rookie contract.

2RB TreVeyon Henderson | Ohio State

TreVeyon Henderson has been turning heads since bursting onto the scene as a true freshman, bringing a rare blend of burst, balance, and vision to the Ohio State backfield. One of the Big Ten’s most dynamic weapons, his rise has been fueled by grit, natural talent, and a relentless drive to compete.

Henderson's journey from prep standout to Buckeye cornerstone didn't unfold overnight. While lower-body injuries occasionally slowed his pace, he remained a constant threat whenever on the field. By the end of his collegiate career, he ranked fifth all-time in Ohio State history with 3,761 rushing yards and sixth in rushing touchdowns with 42. His résumé includes one of the defining moments of the Buckeyes' 2024 national title run—an explosive play that perfectly captured his game-breaking potential.

Tipping the scales at 208 pounds, Henderson combines compact power with top-end speed. His frame allows him to shake off would-be tacklers and hit open lanes with authority—traits that have placed him firmly on the radar of NFL scouts nationwide.

    3TE Mason Taylor | LSU

Mason Taylor enters the draft as one of the most well-rounded tight ends in his class—a prospect with a strong foundation and room to grow. While he isn't the most refined product yet, he's far from unseasoned. That blend of readiness and raw athletic upside could allow him to contribute right away at the next level.

Taylor departs LSU as the most statistically productive tight end in school history. He made his mark early, grabbing a starting spot as a freshman and delivering clutch performances during the Tigers' 2022 upsets over Ole Miss and Alabama. Over three seasons, he became a dependable fixture in the LSU offense before declaring for the draft.

If his name isn't called late on Day 1, expect Taylor to be one of the first off the board early in Round 2. Standing at 6ft 5in and tipping the scales at 255 pounds, Taylor wasted no time making his presence felt at LSU.

4WR Luther Burden III | Missouri

One of Missouri's most highly regarded prospects in recent memory will have to wait until Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft. Luther Burden III, the standout wide receiver from East St. Louis, wasn't selected in the first round on Thursday night in Green Bay. Just a year ago, Burden, who declared for the draft after his junior year, was widely seen as a lock for the first round, with some even speculating he could go first overall.

From the moment Burden arrived at Mizzou as the No. 3 overall recruit in the nation, expectations were sky-high. He was anticipated to be an early draft pick, and many thought he would be among the top names called on Day 1. However, that didn't come to fruition. Instead, Missouri’s only first-round selection came from right tackle Armand Membou, who was taken 7th overall by the New York Jets.

    5RB Kaleb Johnson | Iowa

One of the top prospects still waiting for his name to be called is Iowa's standout running back, Kaleb Johnson.

Known as "KJ2," Johnson has etched his name in Iowa football history, setting a new single-season touchdown record with 21 touchdowns on 241 carries last year. He also rushed for 1,537 yards, which ranked him 6th in the nation and 3rd in the Hawkeyes’ record books. His stellar performance earned him the Ameche-Dayne Big Ten Running Back of the Year award.

With impressive showings at both the NFL Draft Combine and his Pro Day, Johnson is hoping to see his stock rise and secure a spot in the upcoming draft.
