Gary Neville reveals his England team for Euro 2024 quarter-final against Switzerland, complete with stark warning for Gareth Southgate

Southgate is expected to make key changes to his starting XI after scraping through to the quarter-finals thanks to a late comeback against Slovakia in the last-16. The Three Lions boss may line up in a new formation for the clash but Neville has urged him to stick with his trusted set-up.

With Marc Guehi suspended, Neville believes Ezri Konsa should start in the centre of defence alongside John Stones, The Daily Mailreports. He has also suggested Trent Alexander-Arnold should start at right-back instead of the midfield role he has been playing lately, while Kyle Walker should play on the left. However, the ex-Manchester United full-back believes Jude Bellingham should play in attacking midfielder with Cole Palmer and Anthony Gordon on the wings in support of Harry Kane.

Neville's full XI is: Jordan Pickford; Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Konsa, Walker; Kobbie Mainoo, Declan Rice; Palmer, Bellingham, Gordon, Kane.

Neville's starting XI would see Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka dropped to the bench for the quarter-final tie. England were given a significant boost when UEFA announced that Bellingham has not been suspended for the match after he was investigated over a gesture he made after scoring against Slovakia.

England will face Switzerland in the last eight on Saturday. The winner of that tie will go on to face either Netherlands or Turkey, who go head-to-head in the other game later that day.
