WHAT HAPPENED?
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona striker allegedly broke BBC rules by wearing clothes from his range of Next menswear during the coverage of the Three Lions' Euro 2024 opener against Serbia on Sunday, according to the Daily Mail. Lineker was spotted wearing a pale green T-shirt and a sage jacket from his Next collection - a clothing line he launched in 2023 in collaboration with a high street retailer - during the coverage.

As per BBC rules, presenters are forbidden from wearing clothes - which they are contracted to endorse or advertise or from where they gain financially - on air. The former player's clothes in question are modelled by him on Next's online store.
