Los Che are ready to exercise the purchase option in the winger's contract after the 28-year-old has impressed, having notched four goals and recorded four assists in 28 games in all competitions.

The Russian impressed at the World Cup for the host nation, performances which led Valencia to approach the wide-man.

Wotherspoon signs St Johnstone extension

Midfielder David Wotherspoon has signed contract extension at the Scottish Premiership side, according to the BBC.

The 29-year-old's terms were due to expire at the end of the season, but he has now penned a new two-year deal.

United and Arsenal eye Adams

Manchester United and Arsenal are both reportedly keeping tabs on Birmingham City striker Che Adams, according to the Mirror.

The Championship side rejected several bids - the highest being £9m (€10.3m/$11.64m) - from Burnley in the January transfer window.

They are thought to want around double that fee for a forward who has notched 19 times in 32 league games so far this season.

Liverpool frontrunners for Malcom

Liverpool have emerged in pole position to sign out-of-favour winger Malcom from Barcelona, according to Le10Sport.

The Brazilian has struggled for game-time since joining from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux, playing just 124 minutes of La Liga football so far this season.

Liverpool, however, have Mohamed Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri as left-footed right-wing options, as well as impressive youngster Harry Wilson on loan at Derby County

United to pay £34m fee for Pochettino

Manchester United will reportedly pay a staggering £34m ( €38.9m/$44m) compensation fee to Tottenham to secure the services of manager Mauricio Pochettino at the end of this season, according to the Evening Standard.

Current interim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has performed admirably since taking over from Jose Mourinho, winning 10 of his 12 games in charge since assuming the role.

However, it is thought that the United hierarchy are still set on trying to prise Pochettino away from Spurs, and would be willing to part with a significant sum in order to secure his services.

QPR defender may join LAFC on loan

Queens Park Rangers fullback Niko Hamalainen has joined up with Los Angeles FC with a loan move likely, according to West London Sport.

Hamalainen, who was born in the United States, made an appearance as a substitute in LAFC's recent 3-0 defeat to the San Jose Earthquakes in a preseason friendly. 

The fullback joined QPR in 2014 and recently signed a new contract through 2020.

'Icardi to Juventus? No chance' - Inter chairman

Inter chairman Steven Zhang has dismissed the possibility of unsettled star striker Mauro Icardi moving to Serie A rivals Juventus.

The Argentine was recently stripped of the Nerazzurri captaincy, which came following the 25-year-old's wife and agent, Wanda Nara, suggesting that Icardi deserved a much higher wage and that several top clubs had expressed an interest in him.

Juventus' sporting director, Fabio Paratici, suggested the club might make a move for the striker, but Inter's chairman has rejected the idea.

Nani signs with Orlando City as designated player

Orlando City has announced the signing of former Manchester United star Nani, who joins from Sporting CP in Portugal.

Nani has signed a three-year designated player contract with the Lions, according to the MLS club, which also announced there was no transfer fee to complete the deal with Sporting.

“This is an exciting day for our organization,” Orlando City SC EVP of Soccer Operations Luiz Muzzi said in a statement. “Nani brings tremendous experience to our roster. He’s a dynamic winger with quality abilities to move and cross the ball, impact games and lead the offensive play.”

Taylor signs Wellington Phoenix extension

Former Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has extended his contract at Wellington Phoenix to the end of the 2019/20 season, according to the club's official website.

The centre-back, 33, has played in all but one of the club's league games this season as they close in on a potential finals position.

Taylor left Newcastle in the summer of 2016 and had spells at Portland Timbers, Ipswich Town and Peterborough United before moving to Australia.

Barca ahead of Chelsea in Jovic race

Barcelona are leading the race to sign Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt, with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also thought to be interested, Goal understands.

The 21-year-old striker is the Bundesliga's top scorer with 14 goals from 20 league appearances so far this season.

Frankfurt are hopeful of completing the permanent signing of the Benfica loanee this summer for €6 million (£5.3m/$6.8m) and are set to demand around €60m (£52m/$68m) for his signature.

Red Bulls extend Long's contract

Reigning MLS Defender of the Year Aaron Long has signed a contract extension with the New York Red Bulls, the club announced on Monday.

The new deal is a reward for a player who has risen through the Red Bulls system to reach the heights of MLS – a journey which took him through the top three levels of American soccer.

Reports indicate it is a three-year extension to the 26-year-old's current deal.

Berizzo takes charge of Paraguay

The Argentine has managed Celta Vigo, Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao in the past, and started his coaching career as an assistant in the Chile national team set-up in 2007.
