  • Pulisic scored fourth Serie A goal
  • Musah played 27 minutes
  • Milan have now three-straight league wins
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

AC Milan have now won three in a row in Serie A after a slow start to the season, and they largely have U.S. international Christian Pulisic to thank for the turnaround.

The winger continued his recent dominance with another goal, his fourth in four games for club and country, to help ice a 3-0 result for the Rossoneri.

Pulisic's American teammate Yunus Musah also saw action in the contest, joining as a substitute at midfield in the 63rd minute to help Milan hold their lead.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

What a difference a few weeks can make. AC Milan couldn't find a way to three points in their opening three matches, starting the season with two draws and a loss. Milan's form led to speculation Paulo Fonseca could face the sack after just five matches.

Yet, Milan turned things around and it doesn't appear coincidental that Pulisic is in the midst of the best form of his career during that stretch. Milan now sit second in Serie A at the start of Matchday 6.

If there is some concern from a U.S. perspective, it lies with Musah, who has seen his playing time dramatically drop this season after being a regular for Milan during the 2023-24 campaign.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Pulisic's five overall club goals is already tied for the sixth-most goals he's had in a season in a 10-year career - which is remarkable because he's only played in seven matches this season for Milan.

His career-best of 15 overall goals came last season in his first campaign for Milan. His second-best showing came in his initial season at Chelsea, where he scored 11.

  • WHAT NEXT FOR MILAN?

Pulisic, Musah and Milan have two more matches prior to the international break, a Champions League tie against Bundesliga champions Leverkusen on Oct. 1 and a Serie A clash against Fiorentina.

Following those matches, the duo will await Mauricio Pochettino's initial squad ahead of friendlies against Panama and Mexico.
