Tom Brady's Birmingham make English history: Blues smash record for most points earned in single professional season with one game to spare

The Blues created English history with a 2-0 win at Blackpool on Wednesday, thanks to goals from Ethan Laird and Alfie May. After the 45th match of the 2024-25 campaign, Birmingham now have 108 points to their name, the most in a single professional season in English football. They broke the previous record held by Reading, who recorded 106 points in their Championship-winning campaign in the 2005-06 season.

Last Sunday, they had broken League One's points tally after their 4-0 win over Mansfield. Wolves had earlier held the record of registering 103 points in the 2013-14 season. Birmingham returned to the Championship within a season of going down from the English second tier.

In the ongoing season, the Brady-owned side has scored the most goals, 82, and conceded the least, 30. They have won 33 out of 45 matches and only lost three times.

Chris Davies' side will play their final game of the season on Saturday when they face Cambridge United away from home.
