GettyTHE BIGGER PICTURE
No slate was wiped clean back at Barca, meaning that the 23-year-old was cleared to head back to his native Netherlands and take in another loan at PSV. That move has been a success, with Dest flourishing in a surprising left-back berth.
GettyWHAT NEXT FOR DEST?
PSV do have a €10 million (£9m/$11m) purchase option on Dest, but Barca can take that off the table if they want to absorb the USMNT ace back into their plans. Dest will likely be freed to make the final call on his future, with the promising defender needing to feel settled and valued wherever he ends up.
