Manchester United's players are reportedly 'losing confidence' in Ruben Amorim's tactical setup after their drubbing at the hands of Manchester City. This comes after the Red Devils head coach said he would rather be sacked than change his philosophy.

The report adds that some United players have never been comfortable with Amorim's system and even one of his chief allies, captain Bruno Fernandes, is 'unhappy' operating in a deeper midfield role. This comes at a time when United have made their worst start to a season in 33 years after taking just four points in four Premier League games.
Ratcliffe backs Amorim
The Mail adds that it would be wrong to say Amorim has lost the support of United's players, and he is also still being backed by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the club's hierarchy. That may change, though, as after a pre-season and 11 months in charge, Amorim isn't making much headway at Old Trafford.

Amorim's United are back in Premier League action on Saturday evening when they host Chelsea in a battle between 14th and fifth in the division. The Red Devils round off the month away to Brentford on September 27.
