    THE BIGGER PICTURE

More firepower will be required in order to compete with the elite of English football, making the addition of a proven No.9 a top priority for Daniel Farke and Co. United States international Sargent, who continues to shine at Norwich, has been on the Whites’ radar for some time.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

A deal may be done there, with Leeds also looking to bring in another creative No.10. Several options are being considered, which could spell the end for Aaronson - with the United States international seemingly being made available at the right price.

    WHAT A TRANSFER INSIDER SAID

According to TBR Football: “Josh Sargent is very high in their thinking, he’s a very good player, the way he’s progressed in the English game. Keep an eye on Leeds for him, he’s an exceptional player and they like him a lot.”

On the playmaker front, they added: “In terms of who they sign, I think the number 10 will be [Gustavo] Hamer or [Emi] Buendia, I think it’ll be one of those two. It might be Hamer because he’ll end up being cheaper, but Farke likes Buendia an awful lot so that might go a long way. Does his injury record go against him? Possibly. He or Buendia will go there and that might see Aaronson move on.”

  • WHAT NEXT?

Aaronson struggled in the Premier League after joining Leeds in 2022, registering only one goal at that level, while Sargent has come a long way since finding the target just twice in the top tier following his switch to Norwich in 2021.
