Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have completed more Premier League transfer business, with Lewis Brunt joining Wrexham from Leicester.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The 23-year-old has been snapped up on a three-year contract through to 2027. He spent time on loan at Mansfield last season, helping them to promotion into League One alongside Wrexham. The Stags had been eager to do a permanent deal, but the versatile defender has opted to head for North Wales instead.
WHAT BRUNT SAID
Brunt has told Wrexham’s official website: “I’m over the moon to get the deal signed and over the line and I can’t wait to get going. Everyone knows the story behind Wrexham, it’s a club with a great history and big ambitions for where it wants to go, so to join that journey is a good feeling.”

Phil Parkinson said of landing a player with top-flight pedigree: “Lewis will be a very good signing for us and he’s a very good young player. He did exceptionally well in his first full season at Mansfield and he will be a player that has a lot of development in him. I believe that he will be a great acquisition for us.”
WHAT NEXT?
Brunt began his career in the academy system at Aston Villa, signing his first contarct in 2018. He moved to Leicester in 2021 and made his senior bow there in an FA Cup clash with Watford. A Premier League debut was made against Tottenham in May 2022, before figuring in league and cup action again in the 2022-23 campaign. The classy centre-half took in 34 appearances for Mansfield last season.
