Their long-standing interest in Osimhen has never materialised into anything, but it seems they may finally be ready to walk away from the Nigerian striker. According to reports, the only way they may dip into the market for a striker is if Christopher Nkunku is sold in the coming months, freeing up funds and space for a replacement.

Additionally, injuries must always be accounted for. Chelsea have the money but are content to operate with what they have, including an in-form Nicolas Jackson. But should the former Villarreal man pick up a knock, Enzo Maresca may want to bring in a ready-made replacement as the Blues look to keep pace with Liverpool in the Premier League.
