Speculation around the former Santos star's future has been building as Mbappe's move to the Santiago Bernabeu draws closer. Rodrygo has insisted he does not want to leave Madrid, but suggested he would be open to a move should he lose his place in Carlo Ancelotti's team.
"Of course, I want to stay here for many years. I want to be here as long as I feel that I help and I’m important to the team," he said. "And from the moment when I see that I’m no longer important, maybe it’s time to look for another place."

Rodrygo signed a contract extension with Madrid in November that runs until 2028. He remains a key player for Ancelotti's men, having scored 17 times in 50 games to help them to another La Liga crown as well as the Champions League final.
