Benjamin Sesko alternative? Arsenal consider entering race for Joao Pedro with Brighton open to selling Brazil star for right price

The Gunners have reportedly landed on Sesko as their number one centre-forward target for the summer but are keen to keep their options open, with Pedro seen as a viable alternative according to The Sun. Brighton would want £70m to consider selling the Brazil international.

Pedro has scored 30 goals and assisted 10 in 70 appearances since signing for the Seagulls from Watford in 2023. The same report states Arsenal may be rivalled by Newcastle, Liverpool and Aston Villa in the race for his signature.

Pedro missed the final two games of Brighton's season after a training ground altercation with team-mate Jan Paul van Hecke. Boss Fabian Hurzeler claimed "there are values that are non-negotiable, I don't make any compromises" after the incident, potentially encouraging Pedro's suitors.

A new striker is considered a must for Arsenal this summer, after they scored 17 fewer goals than 2024-25 champions Liverpool. Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres were considered to be their leading targets, but Pedro is also an option.
