    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Even at his tender age, Yamal is arguably Barcelona's most important player, having also played a huge role in Spain winning Euro 2024 during the summer. He is nominated for the Ballon d'Or, alongside Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior - the latter is favourite to win it.

  • WHAT RIVALDO SAID

"He is a great player. I admire him because he has a personality despite being young. But he already has a very, very high level. I think he is already at the level of Mbappe and Vinicius. And according to his personality, I think he still has a lot to show. He is going to go very, very far," Rivaldo said, via Marca.

"You see Yamal and he plays with joy. He enjoys football. If you add to that the fact that he has already won the European Championship, it makes him a difference-maker for the future. I am convinced."
