Atletico Madrid threaten to CANCEL £33m Conor Gallagher transfer as they fume at Chelsea over failed Samu Omorodion deal

The Spanish giants have a £33 million ($42m) deal with the Premier League heavyweights agreed for England international Gallagher. He is in Madrid for further talks, with a medical ready to be taken before a long-term contract is signed.

It is, however, being claimed by talkSPORT that Atleti are ready to “pull the plug” on that deal. They are disappointed that Chelsea have walked away from a £36m ($46m) transfer for Olympic gold medal winner Omorodion over concerns regarding his fitness.

Atletico may now decide to send Gallagher back to west London and explore alternative options, with efforts also being made to push through a big-money raid on Manchester City for World Cup-winning forward Julian Alvarez.

When it comes to Omorodion, talkSPORT says his advisors are now sounding out other Premier League clubs after seeing Chelsea bring discussions to a close. The 20-year-old remains keen on securing a move away from Atleti in the summer window.
