Madrid scouts have been watching the midfielder and could see him as a possible option to bulk out their options in the centre of the park. The club have been linked with a last-minute approach for Arsenal-linked Martin Zubimendi as well as Manchester City's Rodri and Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez. New boss Xabi Alonso is keen to add ball-playing midfielder to his squad and Wharton could be the man they stump up a large fee for.
DID YOU KNOW?
Since moving to Palace, Wharton has emerged as one of the bright young sparks in the Premier League. Despite struggling with injury for large parts of the 2024-25 season, the midfielder is still considered a key member of the Eagles team that has made the FA Cup final.

Wharton will see out the rest of the season at Palace. They have two games remaining against Wolves and Liverpool after the FA Cup final before Wharton takes a break over the summer. It is likely teams will come in with bids for the 21-year-old, but Palace will no doubt do all they can to retain his services.
