Commentary

That's all for now, thanks for joining us!
All Hungary need to do now to qualify for the finals is draw against Italy, who just beat England 1-0 at the San Siro. It is now mathematically impossible for Germany to qualify for the finals, and will now play a somewhat meaningless game against England, whose loss means relegation to League B.
Szalai's cheeky first-half goal was the difference between the two sides and Germany looked like a shadow of themselves against this Hungary team. Despite a wealth of attacking talent, Flick's side were poor in front of goal, especially in the first-half.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: GERMANY 0-1 HUNGARY
90' + 4' Hungary have shown how to get the better of this German team. They were lucky at times, but they are a strong, physical team that counters well, making it difficult for Germany to play their game.

57' SO CLOSE FOR GERMANY AGAIN! Muller gets the ball to Werner, but the striker's shot is poor, and it's straight at the keeper. Despite still being down, the hosts have shown much better attacking poweress in this half.
53' OFFSIDE! Germany have the ball in the back of the net, but Hoffman, who scored, is very much offside.
51' BIG SAVE! Gundogan passes it on to Sane who takes an angled shot, but Gulacsi makes the save with his foot.

Hungary lead, courtesy of Szalai's clever goal from a corner. Germany have struggled in attack, and have made it easy for Hungary to sit deep, and hit them on the counter.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: GERMANY 0-1 HUNGARY
45' + 1' Rudiger's long pass pings straight to Gulacsi's hands, which just about sums up Germany's night so far.

J. Kimmich
Yellow Card
25' There is no hesitation from the referee as he pulls out his card to book Kimmich, who very clearly pulled the shirt of Szoboszlai.
24' Should things stand, Hungary are through to the Nations League finals. Let's see if they can continue to keep Germany at bay.
21' The goalscorer is now done after being tripped by Muller. He shakes it off, and Hungary win a free-kick in their own half.
D. Szoboszlai
Assist
17' Szoboszlai's corner was taken quickly and right to the feet of Szalai for the goal.
Á. Szalai
Goal
17' GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAL!!!! HUNGARY LEAD 1-0. It is the captain Szalai who flicks the ball from a corner with his right foot in the far post. He has somehow done it with his back to goal, making it that much more impressive.
13' Gundogan is doing well to keep Germany's midfield in control of the ball so far, but Hungary have threatned with their quick pace forcing Germany into some sloppy passing.

1' The referee blows his whistle and we are underway!
The captains have shaken hands, and kick-off is just moments away!
The German national team have won each of their last 11 international matches played in Leipzig - in no other city have the national side ever had such a long winning streak in their history.
Gulacsi starts in goal tonight for Hungary, marking his 50th international appearance, while Kerkez makes his debut. The creativity in Hungary's attack will be left up to Szoboszlai as Roland Sallai misses out due to an eye injury.
Hofmann, who has a goal contribution in Germany's last three Nations League matches starts ahead of Ter Stegen. Werner is the German player with the most goals under Hansi Flick, so it is no surprise he has retained his place up top. Leon Goretzka and Manuel Neuer are not in the squad as the two tested positive for COVID-19 and left the German camp a couple of days ago.
