After convincing wins over Alabama and Tennessee last weekend, Michigan (+170), which takes on Arizona in the Final Four on Saturday, remains the favorite to win the national championship. In any case, there won’t be a back-to-back champion, as Florida went out in the second round.

March Madness Odds 2026 - Michigan Mauling Opponents En Route to Final Four
Michigan Wolverines (170)
Dusty May’s Michigan has managed the best average margin of victory of any team in the tournament. The Wolverines have won their four games by an average margin of 22.5 points and destroyed Tennessee 95-62 in the Elite Eight.
Forward Yaxel Lendeborg, nicknamed The Dominican LeBron, has been stellar in the Big Dance thus far. The jack-of-all-trades has averaged 21 points, 4.3 assists, and 7.3 rebounds per game so far and, at +230 odds, is the favorite to win the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player award.
Lendeborg, Aday Mara, and Morez Johnson Jr. are key cogs in the Wolverines’ top-ranked defense. Mara has been protecting the paint at an incredibly high level, averaging 2.8 blocks per game.
Michigan is a well-balanced team with the fifth-most efficient offense in the nation. The Wolverines have scored 90+ points in each of their four games thus far and will give Arizona all they can handle on Saturday night.
March Madness Underdog Odds 2026
Arizona Wildcats (+180)
Like Michigan, Arizona is dominant in the paint. In fact, the Wildcats scored 90 points in the paint and on free throws combined in their Elite Eight victory over Purdue. That’s the most points in the paint and from free throws in any tourney game over the last 20 years.
Freshman guard Brayden Burries is one to watch, as he leads Arizona in scoring, with 16.1 PPG. Arizona is only a 1.5-point underdog against Michigan, and the Wildcats would undoubtedly be favored in the title game if they can take down the Wolverines.
Illinois Fighting Illini (+425)
Illinois pulled off one of the most impressive victories in the tournament thus far when it took down Houston 65-55 in the Sweet 16, in Houston. The Illini have the country’s most efficient offense, and they’ve also tightened up on defense throughout the tourney.
Three of Illinois’ four opponents have scored under 60 points, and a pair of freshmen have been on-court leaders. G Keaton Wagler scored 25 points last Saturday against Iowa, while F David Mirkovic has averaged a double-double in the tournament.
Connecticut Huskies (+575)
Another year, another improbable UConn run in the NCAA Tournament. The Huskies pulled off a stunning upset over Duke in the Elite Eight after trailing by as much as 19. Although UConn has the longest title odds of any team remaining, the Huskies are known for their March heroics.
They’ve won two of the last three titles, and senior forward Alex Karaban, who hit a huge late three against Duke, was there for both. However, it’s fellow F Tarris Reed who has dominated for the Huskies. He’s averaged 21.8 points and 13.5 rebounds in four games.
NCAA Championship Winners History
Look away, Michigan bettors. A Big Ten team hasn’t won the NCAA title since 2000, but all of the other power conferences have produced a champion since 2019. If Florida cuts down the net on April 6th, we’d have two different back-to-back champions in succession for the first time.
Winners | Odds | Year | Opponents |
Florida Gators | +400 | 2025 | Houston Cougars |
Connecticut Huskies | +470 | 2024 | Purdue Boilermakers |
Connecticut Huskies | +1700 | 2023 | San Diego State Aztecs |
Kansas Jayhawks | +975 | 2022 | North Carolina Tar Heels |
Baylor Bears | +465 | 2021 | Gonzaga Bulldogs |
Virginia Cavaliers | +750 | 2019 | Texas Tech Red Raiders |
Villanova Wildcats | +490 | 2018 | Michigan Wolverines |
North Carolina Tar Heels | +650 | 2017 | Gonzaga Bulldogs |
Villanova Wildcats | +1400 | 2016 | North Carolina Tar Heels |
Duke Blue Devils | +975 | 2015 | Wisconsin Badgers |
*No tournament held in 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic
