SC East Bengal had a disappointing campaign in the previous edition of the ISL (Indian Super League) as they finished on the ninth spot in the league table. To turn things around in the upcoming ISL season, they have got a new coach in Manolo Diaz and six foreign players who will be trying their luck for the first time on Indian soil.
However, Tomislav Mrcela, the Australian centre-back, has not appeared in a single match in the 2020-21 season as he had been suffering from injuries. His last appearance was against Sydney FC on August 20, 2020.
They will begin their journey on November 21 against Jamshedpur FC, and on the next matchday on November 27, they will take on eternal rivals ATK Mohun Bagan FC in the much anticipated Kolkata Derby.
