Mohan Bagan have confirmed the signing of defender Sukhdev Singh from I-League 2017-18 champions Minerva Punjab. The Kolkata giants beat rivals East Bengal in the race to sign the 26-year-old defender for the upcoming season.
East Bengal had prematurely announced the transfer of Sukhdev in April but Bagan acted swiftly to convince the defender to sign for them. The defender was a first-team regular in Minerva's title-winning campaign. He played 17 games and has one goal to his name.
Sankarlal Chakraborty's side has already roped in Henry Kisekka from Gokulam Kerala and with Sukhdev Singh joining the list, supporters can look forward to an improved league season compared to the last one where they finished third behind Minerva Punjab and NEROCA FC.
