East Bengal are gearing up for a brand new season of the I-League and are playing multiple pre-season friendly matches against Indian Super League (ISL) sides around the country.
Their first two friendly matches were against old foes Bengaluru FC in Bengaluru. The Red and Golds managed a 1-1 draw in the first friendly but were completely outclassed in the second game by former I-League rivals.
From Bengaluru, they travelled to Pune to take another ISL side FC Pune City. The Kolkata giants fought hard but conceded a 2-1 defeat. Some pride was restored in their fourth match in Goa when they defeated FC Goa 2-1. In their fifth match on November 10th, they thrashed Jamshedpur FC 3-1 to register back to back wins.
