2019 AFC Asian Cup: Rival Watch - UAE ends Austrian camp with Andorra draw

The United Arab Emirates (UAE), the host nation for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup, have been hard at work in preparation for the continental tournament.

UAE are grouped along with Bahrain, Thailand and India, who are making their first appearance in the Asian Cup after 2011, in Group A and coach Alberto Zaccheroni is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the team enjoys a successful tournament.

They have been camping in Austria for 18 days before bringing it to an end with a friendly draw against Andorra on Saturday at the DAS Goldberg Stadium in the West Austrian market town of Grodig.

Zaccheroni gave opportunities to all his players during the goalless draw before returning to the UAE.

They are set to hold further camps and organise friendlies in the lead up to the event in January.

The UAE will next camp in Girona, Spain, in September when they will take on Trinidad and Tobago in addition to Laos. In October, they have a camp planned in Barcelona during which, they will play against Honduras and Venezuela.

They will have further camps at home in the UAE later this year as they fine-tune their preparations.

India are currently camped in Australia but have only one confirmed friendly, against China, for now.
