Fresh off weekend victories, Huddersfield Town and Leicester City are set to square off in the EFL Cup's first round on Wednesday night.
The Terriers will host the Foxes at the John Smith's Stadium, heading into the tie with back-to-back league wins and the belief they can spring a surprise. Leicester, relegated from the Premier League just last season, are widely tipped to be among the Championship’s elite this term and could well launch an immediate return to England's top flight. Their preseason form was strong, winning five of six friendlies, and they kicked off their league campaign with a 2-1 home win over Sheffield Wednesday.
That victory, however, wasn't as straightforward as the stats suggest. Despite hogging 75% of the ball and firing 20 more shots than the visitors, Leicester were wasteful in front of goal and only secured the points when Wout Faes struck late in the second half.
Huddersfield, meanwhile, are trying to climb back up the ladder after slipping to League One just six years on from their Premier League adventure. Under Lee Grant, they've made a flying start, opening the season with a commanding 3-0 win over Leyton Orient before a clinical 2-0 triumph away at Reading last weekend. Confidence is running high in Yorkshire, and the home crowd will believe an upset is there for the taking.

Team news & squads
Huddersfield team news
On the team news front, Sean Roughan made a substitute appearance against Reading after going off injured early in the opener, leaving Marcus Harness as the only fitness doubt.
New signings Marcus McGuane, Leo Castledine, and Murray Wallace have yet to feature but could get their first taste of competitive action in midweek.
Leicester team news
Leicester's preparations, however, continue to be shaped by off-field concerns, with financial issues prompting more departures. Wilfred Ndidi, ex-England defender Conor Coady, and first-choice keeper Mads Hermansen have all moved on. In Hermansen’s absence, Jakub Stolarczyk got the nod on Saturday, though veteran Asmir Begovic may make his club debut here.
Injuries keep full-backs Ricardo Pereira and Victor Kristiansen sidelined, alongside Bobby De Cordova-Reid and long-term absentee Harry Souttar, leaving the Foxes slightly stretched going into this cup clash.
