How to watch today's Club America vs Pumas UNAM Liga MX game: Live stream, TV channel, and start time

The lights of the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes will shine bright on Saturday night as Club América welcome bitter rivals Pumas UNAM in round 11 of Liga MX — and the stakes feel heavier than ever.

For America, the midweek script was all about Alejandro Zendejas, who once again proved to be the man for the moment. The American international kept his hot streak alive, smashing home an 89th-minute winner to snatch a dramatic 1-0 victory over a stubborn Atletico San Luis. That clutch finish erased some of the sting from their earlier 2-1 defeat to Guadalajara and a pulsating 2-2 draw with Monterrey. With 21 points collected from 10 matches, Andre Jardine's side sit fourth in the standings, only three points adrift of table-toppers Cruz Azul, a gap they'll be itching to close.

The mood couldn’t be more different in the Pumas camp. Efrain Juarez's squad stumbled badly in midweek, falling 3-1 to FC Juarez at the Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez. It was a sobering reminder of how fragile their form can be after a summer that included a Leagues Cup group-stage exit. Still, before that slip-up, Pumas had strung together six unbeaten league outings (two wins, four draws), showing flashes of the grit that has long defined them.

Currently parked in ninth with 13 points from 10 games, Pumas are clinging to the playoff picture. But a victory on Saturday wouldn't just steady the ship — it could lift them level with sixth-placed Club Tijuana and send a warning shot across the league.

CF America team news

For America, the injury board looks far more crowded. Rodrigo Aguirre is nursing an eye injury, and Sebastian Caceres has been slowed by muscle cramps. Midfield maestro Alvaro Fidalgo remains out with a knee problem that will likely keep him sidelined until early November, a blow considering how central he is to Andre Jardine's system. Things are even more grim for youngster Dagoberto Espinoza, who is facing a lengthy layoff with a cruciate ligament tear, ruling him out until late March 2026.

Veteran Jonathan dos Santos is battling a calf injury and isn’t expected back until mid-October, while striker Henry Martin is still recovering from a knee knock that should keep him out until early October.

In short, America's depth is being stretched thin. With so many influential names missing, the pressure will fall on the likes of Alejandro Zendejas and Diego Valdés to keep the machine ticking, and make sure this doesn't turn into one of those "what if" stretches that haunt a title run.

Pumas UNAM team news

Pumas UNAM head into the weekend with a couple of notable absences. Defender Pablo Lara won't be available as he's away on international duty, while Santiago Lopez is sidelined after suffering a broken finger. Not the kind of depth issues Efrain Juarez would've wanted heading into a high-stakes clasico.
