Former PSL and FIFA referee Dr. Errol Sweeney has delivered a scathing assessment of the proposed R82 million introduction of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in South African football. The veteran official, famously known as "The Hanging Judge," believes the multi-million rand investment is unnecessary and that the true solution to officiating woes lies in structural independence rather than expensive gadgetry.
